Will you be climbing the Sint-Niklaas tower soon?
As you climb the 214 steps, you can take a break at various points and get information about the carillon, the former bell foundry, the history of the tower and its surroundings and the reconstruction of the city after World War I.
At the top, you will enjoy the magnificent panoramic 360° view. The sea, the West Flanders hills with the 156-metre-high Kemmelberg, the 84-metre-high IJzer Tower in Diksmuide; the 104-metre-high Europa Centre in Ostend, and even the port of northern France's Dunkirk, all can be seen from the tower.
